Location:
China
Services provided:  M&A – Technical advisory – Financial advisory

Main project duties

Our client, a local project sponsor owing full permits to build and operate a municipal solid waste to power plant (MSW), retained our experts to finalize the definitive specifications for the construction and operation of two waste to energy plants. Advisory services included the selection of the most modern and reliable technologies  – both for fluidizing beds, steam turbines and catalytic systems to manage fly and bottom ashes – and were addressed through a bid process (RFP). Additional services provided refer to the selection of EPC and O&M contractors along with the definition and negotiation of related contractual frameworks. Supply agreement preparation, based on existing concessions, were reviewed and tuned to reduce risks and ensure a timely and predictable feeding of the fluidizing beds. Advisory team also supported the client with the preparation of the PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) with the respective counterparts for both thermal and energy output along with the review and tuning of the medium term business plan. The financial teaser was prepared to support the entry of a private partner in the shareholding structure.
